Player Journals and Content

Keep a journal, give entries context, react and discuss with your party, browse shared lore, and track milestones.

Keep a journal

  1. Open Journal from the sidebar. The Mine tab holds your private entries; the Party tab holds entries shared with your player group.
  2. Choose New Journal Entry, give it a clear title, and write. Formatting and @mentions of people, places, and things you can see are supported.
  3. Save an entry as Private or Communal; communal entries are shared with your current group and the GM.
  4. Open an entry's history to review or restore an earlier revision.

Best practice

Keep one entry per durable topic rather than one endlessly growing note; focused titles make search, tags, and revision history far more useful.

Your Journal keeps private (Mine) and group (Party) entries alongside the updates the GM has shared.

Give entries context

  1. Link a session to date an entry. The dropdown lists sessions your group can see, newest first, labelled by date.
  2. Set the in-world date with the calendar picker; linking a session fills it in automatically, and you can override it.
  3. Add a few tags, then use the search box and tag chips at the top of the Journal to find entries later.

Beat the blank page

The New Journal Entry menu offers templates such as Session Recap, Character Reflection, Someone I Met, and Theory / Mystery, plus Prompt me, which drops an in-character writing spark into a fresh entry.

React and discuss on the Party tab

  1. On a Party entry, add an emoji reaction or open the comment thread.
  2. Comment to compare notes, and edit or delete your own comments at any time.
  3. The GM can react and comment too, and can moderate the thread.

Important

Reactions and comments live on communal (Party) entries only, and are visible to your player group and the GM.

Browse shared content

  1. Open Everything for a single list of every record shared with you, or a specific type for a focused view.
  2. Toggle list or card view, sort, and filter to scan quickly.
  3. Open Core Rules for a reference to the campaign's game system.
  4. Open files the GM attached to a shared record. Players can read shared attachments but do not upload their own.

Create private or communal entities

The GM chooses which entity types players may create. Those types show a New action in the player workspace.

  1. Choose an enabled type and fill in the name, summary, notes, and available fields.
  2. Choose Private for a record only you browse, or Communal for your current group.
  3. Save, and use the record's history when shared editing changes a field.

Make it yours, and choose what the GM sees

Pick a Journal style, Clean, Parchment, Arcane, or Leather, from the book icon in the Journal header or in My Settings.

My Settings also controls whether the GM can review your private journal entries and private entities. Communal content is always available to the GM regardless of these settings.

Best practice

Review the sharing switches when you join a campaign and whenever the group agrees on a different note-sharing practice.
