Campaign Data and Lifecycle

Manage collaborators, backups, imports, deletion, and the seven-day recovery window.

GM

About 9 minutes

Manage campaign collaborators

  1. Open Campaign Settings, then Campaign.
  2. Add a member by email and assign the minimum role they need.
  3. Use GM for collaborators who build and run content, or Viewer for read-only access.
  4. Review the member list whenever staffing or ownership changes.

Important

Campaign collaborators use the GM workspace and are different from players. Do not grant a collaborator role merely to share player-facing lore.

Export a backup or readable archive

  1. Open Campaign Settings, then Data.
  2. Choose Export JSON for a machine-readable backup that can be imported later.
  3. Choose Export Readable ZIP for Markdown documents and attachments suited to offline reference.
  4. Store exports according to the privacy needs of the campaign.

Best practice

Export JSON before a large import, calendar restructure, or schema change. Use the readable ZIP for archival access, not round-trip restoration.

Import campaign data

  1. Export the current campaign before importing.
  2. Choose Import JSON and select a valid Tapestry JSON export.
  3. Wait for the imported entity count confirmation.
  4. Review representative entities, relationships, and settings before continuing work.

Important

Import preserves existing data rather than replacing the campaign. Re-importing overlapping content may create records you need to reconcile.

Delete or restore a campaign

  1. Only the owner can schedule deletion from Campaign Settings, then Data.
  2. Type the exact campaign name to confirm. The campaign disappears from members and players immediately.
  3. During the seven-day recovery window, find it under Recently Deleted on the Campaigns page and choose Restore.
  4. After the recovery deadline, treat the campaign as permanently unavailable.
