Roll Dice

Core workflows

Roll Dice

Roll from the dice tray, choose private or public rolls, personalize your dice, and show rolls on stream.

GM + Player

About 5 minutes

Roll from the dice tray

  1. Players roll from the dice tray in the top bar; GMs roll from the Dice panel in DM Screen.
  2. Build the dice pool, set a modifier, and roll.
  3. Choose advantage or disadvantage when a roll calls for it.
  4. Watch the 3D dice settle and the result banner report the total.

Private and public rolls

Rolls are private by default, so only you see them. When the GM has enabled public rolls and the campaign has streaming turned on, players also get a Roll Public button, which sends the result to the campaign's dice overlay.

Important

Public rolls appear on the shared dice overlay. Use a private roll for anything the table should not see yet.

Who rolled

Rolls are attributed automatically. If exactly one player character is tagged to you, the roll shows that character's name and portrait; otherwise it shows your display name.

Personalize your dice

  1. Open the dice tray settings (the gear).
  2. Choose a dice theme, a size, and a fade-out effect.
  3. Your appearance applies to your own rolls, both in the tray and on the overlay.

Best practice

Pick a theme that stays easy to read at a glance during play rather than the flashiest one.

Show rolls on stream (GM)

The dice overlay is one of the OBS browser sources. Enable streaming in Campaign Settings, add the dice source in OBS, and turn on player public rolls if you want players' rolls to appear. The overlay uses the campaign's default theme for the result banner.
