Advanced Calendars and Timelines

Configure custom calendars, moons, recurring dates, and long-range campaign history.

GM

About 9 minutes

Choose a calendar model

  1. Open Campaign Settings, then World.
  2. Enable the campaign calendar and choose a managed preset or Custom.
  3. Set the current date used by the top bar, date pickers, and #today editor shortcut.
  4. For a preset, decide whether Tapestry should manage its included holidays.
  5. Save World Settings before opening calendar tools.

Important

Changing a live calendar can change how existing dated content is interpreted. Export a JSON backup before restructuring months, eras, or leap rules.

Customize months, eras, and moons

Managed presets remain read-only. Switch the calendar to Custom when you need to edit its definition.

  1. Open Calendar, then Settings.
  2. Review weekday labels, month lengths, conditional months, and era naming.
  3. Add only the moons the campaign actively tracks and set their cycle information.
  4. Save the definition, then verify the current date is still valid.

Work with the timeline

  1. Open Calendar, then Timeline.
  2. Search by title or filter dated notes by entity type.
  3. Zoom and move through time to compare events across different periods.
  4. Select an entry to inspect its date and linked campaign record.

Best practice

Use Calendar for near-term play and Timeline for historical context. Date the source entity rather than duplicating the same fact in several places.
